WIKING Miro 4+ Wood Burning Stove — Danish Precision With Natural Stone Option
The WIKING Miro 4+ wood burning stove brings the clean, front-facing design language of the WIKING Miro range together with a practical lower section and, uniquely within the range, the option of a natural stone grey cladding that transforms the stove into something closer to a piece of architecture than an appliance. Built in Denmark by HWAM, the Miro 4+ is available in four variants — lower door or wood storage, each available in steel or natural stone cladding — giving you meaningful choices around both function and finish before you commit.
Lower Door or Wood Storage — Choosing Your Lower Section
The first choice with the Miro 4+ is what sits beneath the firebox. The lower door variants give the stove a clean, enclosed lower section — ideal for those who prefer a tidy, minimal aesthetic or want to use the space behind the door for storage of ash tools or kindling. The wood storage variants replace the door with an open compartment, keeping a supply of logs visible and within easy reach of the fire. Because the logs are on show, they become part of the look of the stove rather than something hidden away — adding texture and warmth to the overall impression.
Both options work equally well in practice, and both share identical core specs, combustion performance, and clearance requirements. Your choice comes down entirely to which aesthetic suits your room and your day-to-day preferences.
Natural Stone Cladding — A Premium Upgrade Worth Considering
What sets the Miro 4+ apart from every other stove in the Miro range is the natural stone cladding option. Available in natural stone grey on both the lower door and wood storage variants, it replaces the standard steel panels with a layer of natural stone that wraps the body of the stove and gives it an entirely different character — substantial, warm, and genuinely striking in person.
Furthermore, natural stone cladding adds significant thermal mass to the stove. Because stone absorbs and holds heat far more effectively than steel, the natural stone variants continue to radiate warmth into the room long after the fire has died down — delivering a gentler, more sustained heat over a longer period. This is a meaningful practical benefit as well as an aesthetic one, and it makes the natural stone variants particularly well suited to living rooms where you want background warmth to linger through the evening. The natural stone versions are wider and deeper than the steel variants and considerably heavier — 224–226kg compared with 106–108kg — so factor that into your floor and installation planning early.
WIKING® Autopilot™ — Combustion Without the Effort
All four Miro 4+ variants run on the WIKING® Autopilot™ combustion system, which manages the air supply automatically throughout every burn cycle. Because of this, you never need to adjust the air control manually — the system reads the conditions in the firebox and keeps combustion at its most efficient from the first flame to the last ember. As a result, you get a cleaner fire, better fuel economy, and less residue building up in the flue over time.
The Miro 4+ delivers a 4.4kW nominal output and 75% efficiency across all four variants, earning an A energy efficiency class rating. Additionally, it is DEFRA exempt, fully Ecodesign compliant, and certified to EN 16510 Type CA — supporting a closed combustion, room-sealed installation with an optional external air kit available as an additional purchase.
