WIKING® Automatic™ — Combustion That Manages Itself

The standout feature of the Mini 2 is the WIKING® Automatic™ combustion system. Rather than relying on manual air control, WIKING® Automatic™ regulates the air supply automatically throughout the burn cycle — maintaining the most efficient combustion possible at all times without any adjustment from you. As a result, you get a cleaner, more consistent fire, fewer deposits in the flue, and better fuel economy from every load of wood you put in. The system contributes directly to the stove’s A+ energy efficiency class, which is among the highest ratings available for a wood burning stove of this output.

Furthermore, the Mini 2 is DEFRA exempt, which means you can burn wood in it legally in a smoke control area. It also holds HETAS approval and is fully Ecodesign compliant — so it meets the most demanding environmental and safety standards currently in place in the UK.

Four Configurations — Choose the One That Suits Your Room

The Mini 2 is available in four distinct mounting configurations, each suited to a different installation scenario. Because the core stove — the firebox, output, combustion system, and approvals — remains identical across all four, your choice comes down entirely to how you want the stove to sit in the room.

The short legs version sits lower to the ground, giving the stove a more grounded, traditional presence that works particularly well in rooms with lower ceilings or in a fireplace recess. The long legs version raises the stove higher, creating a lighter, more elevated look that suits contemporary interiors and open-plan spaces where the firebox needs to sit at a comfortable viewing height. The plinth configuration gives the stove a solid, architectural base — a clean, block-like look that sits naturally against a flat wall and works well in more minimal, modern settings. Finally, the wall mounted version lifts the stove completely off the floor, which keeps the space beneath it clear and creates a striking floating effect that is genuinely dramatic in the right room. It also requires a minimum floor clearance of 22cm, so factor that into your planning.

All four configurations of the Mini 2 come in a choice of black or grey steel cladding. Both finishes are clean and hardwearing, sitting comfortably across a wide range of interior styles — from the warm tones of a traditional living room to the cooler palette of a contemporary open-plan space. The combustion chamber measures 35cm x 32cm, and an optional fresh air kit is available for all variants, making the Mini 2 compatible with modern, well-sealed homes where air tightness might otherwise affect draw and performance.
