WIKING Miro 5+ Side Glass Wood Burning Stove — Tall, Considered, and Full of Character
The WIKING Miro 5+ wood burning stove is one of the tallest stoves in the WIKING Miro range, and it uses every centimetre well. At 131.5cm, it commands a room in a way that shorter stoves simply cannot — and it backs that presence up with a distinctive side glass panel, WIKING® Autopilot™ automatic combustion, and a choice of two thoughtfully designed upper and lower configurations. Built in Denmark by HWAM, it is available in black or grey steel and suits rooms where a stove is meant to be the centrepiece.
Two Variants — Choose Your Upper and Lower Configuration
The first variant combines heat storage stones in the upper section with an enclosed lower door beneath the firebox. The heat storage stones absorb warmth from the firebox as it burns and then release that heat slowly back into the room over time. Because of this, the stove continues to warm the room long after the fire has died down — delivering a gentler, more sustained heat that is particularly welcome on long evenings. The stones add 34kg to the stove, bringing the total weight with stones to approximately 151kg.
The second variant takes a different approach. Instead of stones, it has a warming shelf across the top — a useful surface for keeping drinks warm, resting a pot, or simply adding a natural resting place above the fire. Below the firebox, an open wood storage compartment keeps a supply of logs visible and within easy reach. As a result, this variant feels more active and practical in everyday use — a stove that works with your daily routine rather than simply sitting in the corner of the room.
Side Glass — A Wider Flame View
Like the Miro 1+ and Miro 3+, the Miro 5+ uses a side glass panel to extend the flame view beyond the front face of the stove. Rather than presenting the fire in a single front-facing pane, the side glass opens the view around one corner of the firebox — so the flames become visible from a wider angle across the room. Furthermore, this wider view makes the stove particularly effective in larger living rooms and open-plan spaces where people approach from different directions.
Because of the side glass, clearance requirements on the sides are 50cm. So confirm your available wall space with your installer before committing to a position — getting this right early makes the whole installation process much smoother.
WIKING® Autopilot™ — Clean, Automatic Combustion
Both Miro 5+ variants run on the WIKING® Autopilot™ combustion system. Rather than adjusting the air manually throughout the burn, Autopilot™ manages the air supply on its own — keeping combustion clean and efficient from start to finish. Because of this, you get better fuel economy and less residue building up in the flue over time, with no manual intervention needed once the fire is going.
The system delivers a 4.4kW nominal output and 75% efficiency across both variants, earning an A energy efficiency class rating. In addition, the Miro 5+ is DEFRA exempt — so you can burn wood legally in a smoke control area — and meets EN 16510 Type CA standards, supporting a room-sealed installation with an optional external air kit available as an additional purchase.
